My source of peace resides within
No matter where I go or where I’ve been

The outside world pulls me away
But here, in this place, I strive to stay

My mind will tell me to escape
To wander off to another place

But here, to this place I strive to go
When the tension of life takes hold

I search for this in other things
Only to find the emptiness it brings

In the darkness my mind will race
To past traumas and heartaches

But the darkness – it subsides
When I choose to go inside

To the soft and steady glow
That my soul can only know
